"I was heartbroken. I'd never been that heartbroken in my life... I came out of that relationship and had some time to go, 'What is it that I actually want to experience in my life, and am I truly living?'"
~ Cameron Brown
My guest this week, Cameron Brown is a musician, filmmaker, coach, and entrepreneur who has committed his life to empowering people across the globe to make a positive impact on themselves, the people around them, and the planet. Making the decision to sell or donate 99% of the things he owned in 2016, Cameron shares how this decision has helped shape who he is and transformed his life for the better.
Born and raised in outback Australia, Cameron discusses how he started playing piano at a young age and how it truly made him feel in his element. He shares what caused him to give it up for a 2-year period and how adversely this affected his psyche. He discusses the importance of emotional intelligence and how this period of in alignment with his core self was truly detrimental to him as a young adult.
Cameron also shares some of the pivotal moments in his life that helped shape his desire to better both people and planet. Despite being faced with these events of sadness and heartbrokenness, Cameron discusses how they truly made him think about life differently and inspired him to make the changes he needed to live life fully. He discusses how an overseas trip following one of these events truly made him experience life as it was meant to be lived, and how it inspired him to start sharing “the beautiful sights and sounds of the world” with the public, combined with his love of music.
Cameron and I close the interview discussing the importance of being a conscious consumer. He shares some of the jaw-dropping statistics behind human consumption of food and goods, as well as the importance of internalizing the impact of your purchases. He also shares some amazing nuggets of wisdom for his younger self, that will truly inspire you to see yourself in a whole different light.
